a few months ago, i took a coconut cooking class from a local bay area farmer, environmentalist and had coco-nutty fun! it was the first time ever that i saw a coconut smashed with a hammer, please do not try this at home. from a previous research in hawai’i, i’ve been told face to face by fil-ams (filipino-americans, those who were born in the USA) about their shame of being filipino at one point in their lives (will go into this another blogtime) but this young lady, aileen suzara, shows her pride through environmental action and conscious cooking, to name a few. this is dedicated to kitchen kwento, many wonderful blessings come your way. daghang salamat for being you!
