sailing the Sea, off of Palawan

maganda on left and malakas on right :). we were island hopping on a bangka with motor, off of Palawan sailing the West Philippine Sea, formerly known as the South China Sea in 1992 SFSU / UP Diliman summer travel exchange program with tony de castro, dr ver enriquez, the 2 dans – professors dan gonzales and dan begonia, professor beth marcelino protacio and 9 other amazing fil-ams, many that i am honored to know as friends, mga kababayan ko, although we were tagged as ‘ufo’s’ – unidentified filipino objects by a non-filipino visiting student. decolonize in action. we shared with pilipinos and others about fil-am experience including racism and such.

an amazing experience that was. at the end of that summer i found out i got accepted in sfsu’s nursing program.
